I am thinking about taking a trip to Australia for the month of November. The only time I have been before was in April and the weather was not so great.

How is it this time of year? Should I book some hotels in advance or is it slower season?

City will be Sydney mainly but I'm thinking of making a trip along the Gold Coast also, to Cairns and Surfers Paradise.

Thanks for any advice

You picked a great place to visit ~WD~ and probably a really good time !!!

In November the weather is quite warm, getting to the very warm stage some times. Certainly not the hottest time of year but almost. I would expect in the low 30c mark in Sydney, around 35 possibly for the Gold Coast ! (This is not extreme temperatures btw for Australia)

The beaches will be starting to swarm and shoppers will be starting to come out of hibernation for xmas. A really good time to visit as it is out of holiday season but just right temperature and party wise :D , people are winding themselves up as the sun shows itself lol.

I would always advise booking motels ahead in Australia, you never know what action could be on. With booking in advance you may still be in time for what we call "early bird deals" making your stay cheaper.;) I don't advise however using a travel agent for motel booking as they ALWAYS screw up leaving you homeless lol, and it is cheaper to book and pay online. Sometimes thier commissions can be quite nasty.

As for places to go hehe, obviously the casino would be the only and obvious choice :p .... if you want more info on great attractions, restaurants etc etc.....just let us Aussies know !!!
