This is only small stakes but can we discuss this hand and how i could've extracted more from my opponent! I thought maybe the check on the river would've invoked a steal..but i was wrong lol

If someone has a similar hand at higher stakes where you felt you could've extracted more please show so we can discuss that too :D

Well in these kinda situations where he bet on the turn, and you just flatcalls him, he would most likely with hands like he has let it go check check on the river since hes ofcourse worried about the K so if would 80% of the time make a valuebet that is big enough to get you some value but also not so big that he can lay down his hand make a bet that keeps his odds high so that he will call your hand i might bet 3-4 dollar on the river here maybe even 2 to get a call but thats different from person to person but i would never check in a situation like this unless you are 100% sure you are up against a maniac who fires 3 times to try and simulate a 7 :)

I was going to check raise the turn but i thought that would scare him off for sure if he had nothing! Just didnt really know what to do on the river..But i really should've bet out!

Given that he had 44 this is the best way to play the hand, but you don't know what he has. Given his range of hands, I see no reason to get tricky here. I say bet flop, turn and river. Don't get fancy at these stakes, just extract value from people who cannot fold. His most likely holdings are a 7, Ace Hi or 88+ if he calls your turn bet. With a hand like that, most donks can't fold the river, but probably wont bet either, so best to just bet, bet, bet imo

Also when posting a hand like this it is much better not to reveal what your opponent had.

I always look at the pot. You can always scrape a little more out with a little bet. Obviously, ALL IN ... not an option, Pot bet, not an option, half the previous bet the opponent made like $1 he /she prob would have called.

Certainly if anything I would have called a small bet to see what you were holding with a pot 7 to 8 times bigger its always worth the risk to call.

I dont think is played bad

If you check on the turn he will bet some bluffs, thats good and it also opens you up get lighter on the river when he checks behind A high or a pair higher then 7s wich he might have folded to your turn bet. This is also a good way to balance if your giving up most of the time in this spot with air.

Once he bets the Turn i dont think the call is bad. He can very well be bluffing the river again thinking you most likely hand is not A high or a pair higher then 7s. He will also bet all of 7s for you allowing you to checkraise allin while if you kept the lead he wouldve just called your bets.

He will most of the time check behind a pocket pair like 8s or A high behind but most playrs wouldnt call there i guess.

However if you tend to bet a lot of turns or you take this line with your monsters all the time you would be better of betting here.

Dont know how much of this is applyable to nL 20$ though ;)

Well i hadnt been at the table long enough to know my opponents but the little while i was there i got to know nearly all my raises pre were not called! Or anyone else's..hence Tight as hell lol Soo thats another reason i was worried of a bet on the river .. i thought he was folding if he had nothing but at least if he had a 7 i would've gotten some kind of bet!

Be nice to some higher stakes hands in this position ;) hint hint ;) :p

p.s i think Danielle thought you ment 10/20$ NLH hehe
