How can we improve ThePlayr.com?

Hi Playrs,

We are happy that people are coming back to the website and participating in the new forum and ThePlayr League. But now we would like to take things even a step further, and add some great new features to the site and to your experience.

We would like some ideas from you guys on what you would like to see. Maybe something on the old ThePlayr.com or something you have seen that you liked on another website or anything at all really. No suggestion is silly or crazy.

We have some ideas of our own of course but I think the best way to grow this community is to give you guys what you want, not for us to make the site how we want.

So lets hear some cool ideas!

Some sound would be good :) There have been many times when I have received PM's and not known. A little ding if one arrives would be great :). Also sound when entering the forum or being logged in. Use the logo advertisement words as an intro as eg.

Possibly a family tree (sounds odd I know) A tree showing how everyone is linked and is in fact part of the community. example .... I have some people I referred to the forum so you would show my name and my family underneath lol. If you add a promo to it (a long term 1) I believe it would give people great incentive to grow their tree and hence the forum/site.

I have many other thoughts and many other things in my head I have looked for. Tell me if these ideas are too far fetched first hehe :)

You can change the settings in the user cp to get pop ups and/or emails when you recieve PM's :D

One thing i have noticed..sometimes when i log in (more often than not) it shows there are new posts.. but these turn out to be posts i have actually already read!! Not sure if you can do anything about this but it can be annoying when your following a thread... :o

We have this option now:

Go to User CP

then select:

Edit Options

and then under:

Default Thread Subscription Mode

select:

Instant Email Notification


You can also receive an email when you get a Private Message:

User CP >> Edit Options >> Private Messaging >> Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages

Yes this is the alternative. The option I posted automatically subscribes you to every thread you post in. This option you have here is when you do not select that option, and you do want to subscribe to some threads.

1) Move the Playr league away from Sundays... Or at least alternate it somewhat.

What you call "International Forum" should in my optic, be called "National Forums", when it's divided in different countries.
I think "ThePlayr Forum" is more international.

A have a suggestion about the timing of thinks here on the site.

From what i can read, mostly in the danish forum, some have been very disappointed about the "old sites" lack of keeping promises. Therefore just the smallest sign of the same thing happening on the new site is being made into bad omens.

To avoid these little misunderstandings i think it would be a very good idea to make sure, that there is a very high amount of info to us users.

For one, making deadlines for when we can expect playrleague tournaments to be scheduled on Titan and when we can expect to have the passwords. I am certain, that the reason this weeks passwords are not out now is an attempt to block outsiders from getting in, but an info about that is very important to the people that felt let down by the previous owners.

I know that it is not fair to you that you have to carry the burden of old mistakes, but that is something that comes with taking over a "wrecked ship"

I think a good one would be to make it so you have to confirm your a human when registering..some forums have a sum or letters and numbers to type in this will prevent bots spamming porn.. :p

Thank you for this. We are having some problems with Titan right now. Hopefully we will get them worked out soon or else we will take the tournament to a new poker room.

This is just a suggestion. But maybe at some point make a theplayr.com team? Like Acemag did?. I don't know how exactly but something like everybody could compete over some time and the 4-5 people with most points is on the official team or something? Maybe get a special deal for that team like a sponsorship with some site. :)

Do you think eventually the league can have its own section? Atm its all dotted about on here everywhere, looks messy imo, maybe have a hall of fame etc.. Somewhere i can show off when i win everything :p

ya we had discussed having ThePlayr League have its own forum but decided against it. i think that might be a good idea at some point.

1 room/forum for the theplayer league, have everything at 1 place: The Playrleague leaderboard, monthly final, winners, (Position/ Name/points/hit on the final tabel and so on),password and dates (a week befor -not the same day,or day befor) delete the old password...

a place where you reade, not wirte- wd you wirte... sorry about my english, i tray :)

Well the League forum is there clearly .. but at a guess Kelmens is Danish and maybe cannot read it? Or im not sure if he's saying the league forum doesnt work? Maybe you need to have a league forum in the danish section too??
