Well people that are "railing" or play poker themself know who he is - but I dont think the "normal" people know or care, there have been some tv promotion from poker stars. But I think we must wait after his big win :D

Eastgate is not a widely know person by the common Dane. Poker players know him.
He is not a guy seeking the media attention.
Which is probably why he just moved to London, to stay out of trouble with the IRS in DK ;)
And he is a hell of a good player

I agree that Peter Eastgate might be an attraction for some poker players, but not for a lot. For that we might need a high-profiled pro like Theo Jørgensen or even an international player.

I have no idea who this player "Eastgate" even is strangely enough. Obviously his popularity in other areas of the world is not as it is with the Danes. It of course could be very hard to find a player who is willing to participate in the forum without "conflicts of interest" (I guess you would call it). Or without costing a fortune. My suggestion is ... find any professional player whom can speak English, knows his stuff and has ANY titles on his belt he can skite about !! In addition who may like to build on his "name".

well i would not put my money on one horse, the site should try to get more low estimated proffesional playrs from around the world. I would be more attraktiv for playrs to play against severeal proffis

I really dont care how famous a player is, if a player has a good game and I can learn form him that is what really counts or me.

It would be fun with known Pro players to join here from time to time, but I doubt it will be easy to get them to commit to just this site.
So a visit would be nice.
Most of the known Danish pro's know each other IRL. There were a lot of them at Østerbro Stadion, when Kipster and Zupp raced 5.000 meters for 50 k, I was there and its like a small exclusive club ;) There was even 6 of them a few days later when Zupp was only praticing. They stick together like glue or chewinggum in your hair..... They are all nice to talk to thou, and have a good sence of humour.

All in all I would love to play against some pros, it can only make me better.
Like you say Mustardeggs, if they have a good game you can learn from them.
(I can learn from most of the players around, he he.)
I'm looking forward to play with you both, WD and Mustard.

I agree with OBMaverick if you just can get some pro's from time to time to come by and play a tournament with us that would be graet it don't have to be a partnership like the old site had with gus. there was nothing wrong with that but I think the chances fore a deal like that not is so good go after many pro's and se what you can get

Still in agreement here with a wide variety of pros to come and go. A surprise to keep us wondering come each tournament would be great !!! (Is there or isnt there going to be a pro and if so WHO !?!?!?!.)

Certainly that would get a lot of attention to the site .... and people registering in tournaments. People would participate in the forum and play in the case that one of thier fav pros turns up. imo anyway.
You should have nabbed Eastgate before he won :( He may not have time for us right now :(

not sure if we are going to pay pros to participate, theyll certainly not come for free to our forum and paying someone to contribute is not a great way to handle it imo because the commitment will not be great and the content doubtfull.

And keep in mind, alot of the famous playrs arent really that great.

Besided that we have some good ides for the site so please dont be disappointed.

I have to agree with you there and i dont think you would get a good player here without paying a hefty price....which seems daft imo

I think there are some great players already in the League so who needs pro's ;)

And WD and Mustard no their stuff so ask them for advice :D

I agree, they only play as good as the "unknown" players who are raking it in. You are right about paying for them too, prob a big waste of money. I just thought that it would increase site use for the "fan chasers" and also increase tournament entries :)

I am happy here with NO pro. :D Just thinking of all the people who are big fans. As with any event or place, the larger amount of famous people there are, the more participants imo. However if this means that people would come here only for the pros. Ditch the idea altogether. There are a GREAT bunch of people on here I would hate to see the site attacked by morons because pros who can't even play as good as the people in the league are dropping in !!

So for me it is not about the pros but about the people in here. The great talk and help you can get around this great forum. :)

Love, peace and understanding might be fine and I'm pretty shure it works fine keeping members attached to a site like this.

But that's the part that comes later - when you've been here for a while.

To get new members, attractions are needed and guest stars would be a great idea. The only realistic way to make this, I think, would be coorporating with pokersites, who has good names connected and then making it a doublesided promotion-event for the poker site as well as for playr.com.

There are also alot of poker forums about these days that have deals going with poker sites so we need to stand out and make them want us.. i.e lots of members.. the member list here went up quite fast but seems to have slowed down lately.. :(
