Hey everyone heehee....I was writing on my diary today when I thought of this one - the inspiration thread. We could post here pictures or txt that inspire us in our lives, and I'm gonna start:
When I was going through some crappy times a friend of mine said this to me:
''You never know where you gonna be in 10 years.''
I like it! It's one of my favourite quotes. :)

Martin Scorsese turns 66 today :) - I totally love his movies and him as an 'artist'. According to astrology, as he is a scorpio, it is in his nature to be into mysteries and to have the dark side of the mind and crime as his muses. As ya'll can see it shows in his movies. :)
The reason why I find him inspirational is because of exactly that....he's naturaly atracted to those things that we run away from, simply because we don't understand them, but they are always there and will always be there and Scorsese masterfully portrays the ugly side of the human condition for audiences around the world...which I totally appreciate. ;)

Well. A lot of things inspires me. Mainly it's the little things that makes it a great day that inspires me :) When people make me feel loved. That's great. Music of course. my own music is inspired by the sad stuff. that's the way i cope with things like that :)

I suppose that when you are trying your best and people love you for that - you probably couldn't find better inspiration. :)

Exactly. I always try the best to be a good person and so on. Of course some times it can be difficult. Like when you have A,A oh the hand and and A,3,K show up in the flop. You raise all in and some guy with 5,3 calls you and then a 2 shows up on turn and then a 4 on the river. Then i really have a hard time being possitive about that donk :P

I'ma admit that I can only play online poker.....I'm one of them ppl that can't hold back the '' you ***** ***** ****'' attitude....but its only an attitude...I don't actually say anything...unless the donk gets cheeky after. ai ai ai ''shakes her head from side to side''

My inspiration is and has always been my grandmother. My grandma had a life of hardships from day 1 and had to fight from the start to the finish. On her birth her mother died leaving her with her less then caring father. She was forced to live with 2 spinster aunties. She went through school and made her way into the corporate world. She walked through a protest at her first job at 18 where a stop work was happening on her first day, she was booed and hissed by everyone lol. She became the PA for the General manager of AMP and stayed there until retirement. She married a man who strayed and left her to bring up 2 kids alone. She remarried very late in life only to have her fortune robbed as she sat crippled with parkinsons disease. She faught parkinsons to the very end only to pass away a few hours after seeing me for the very last time. I drove 17 hours non stop and she held on for the last time in her life. She spoke to me when she hadn't been able to speak for months. I thank her for giving me her last words and breaths. To have the strength and courage she did is a true inspiration :)

Can I Borrow $25 ???
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money and started to get angry again.
The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness..
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 (or whatever) worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
