Not the most subtle play from me, but this guy had raised and called several all-ins that were totally out of line with the pot size, in the 20 minutes i was a table he had lost 4 buyins. Additionally he raised many pots and had been forced several times to showdown crap - therefore i didnt give him credit for high pair, or AK/AQ, and even if he had the Q with better kicker i had the runner runner flush and straight option.

Any opinions or am i just a donk? :)

I am not an expert but I can tell you it was not a setup. You were first to act, there was no check raise or even raise for you to be set up. If the play had gone on a little longer e.g you bet and he flat calls .... then possible he could have set you up. There was no chance for him to do this though.

I would normally have played hard, but not that hard. As you stated he had made moves such as all in bets previously with nothing so seems he has an issue. In saying this though, people do play like that only to rake it in later once an assumption is made about their play.

I don't think all in was the best move. Obviously the chances were low of him holding the Q 10 however.

I am not in the position to coach you of how you should have played that hand. But I am sure one of the much more experienced players will make comment when they log on. :)

Well i gotta say its a bad move, you overbet pot when you hit toppair with a decent kicker, but the problem is your only gonna get called by a hand that beats you, so if you break it down to maths if he calls 1 outta 5 times then youll end up losing money. And with all the hands that can actually beat you then i simply dont get your play you dont have anywhere near the nuts and QK AQ 1010 og 22 is all hands that he could easily hold and be far ahead of you with, so next time use your chips more wisely make a test bet see what he does and use the info he gives you instead of shoving in your money blind without having any clue what he might hold :)

To be a donk, you should be playing like this all the time, and I suppose you don't do that!?

What this hand proves is that you lost your patience with a real donk. I know that feeling and have done it several times - which does not make it a good idea.
You have to tell yourself that because he plays like this, there will be a time for you to kick his ass. But even donks can get the right hand at the right time, so you still have to stick to the basic odds calculations.
Patience is the keyword.

And one more thing: I personally think it's wrong to work with a straigt option if there are only three cards at the flop. Four cards, openend or forget it - thats just my humble opinion.
