PLAYR-LEAGUE .......

Hi all

I would like to take up this discussion again about the playr-league day.
As I said some time ago sunday is a very bad day for the league. All pokersites are runnung their big sunday tournaments this day. Therefore its really hard to concentrate on the league also.
In the old days we played on tuesdays or thursdays and we did make it to over 100 playrs then.
I havent played the league in 2009 because of this - hope we can discuss this and hopefully find another day.;)

Furthermore we have to announce the league much more.........maybe WD , mustard and David Plastik should play the league too. Lets get started it could be very interesting if you pros played too. :o

I agree with Ramones 100% because of the simple fact so many have requested different days and times :) Maybe we could start a poll WD? Mustard? With only 16 max runners at the moment it wouldnt hurt!

I love the idea about at Omaha league, if the time is rigth I will participate in it. To get the most player, it migth be an idea to say that in odd weeks it runs on monday and in even weeks it could be thuseday.

Thursday is fine with me, but since you never will get a unanimous agreement on on time or day, I think that 2 difrent days is a good solution.

I don't know how many Aussis and Amaricans we have on the site, but it could be an idea with a weekly tourney that runs on a weekday at a time there is sutible for Aussis and Americans.

slinky, this dosnt account of the buy in and the number of playrs in anyway. Winning aganst 20 should be worth more then winning against 10

As mustardeggs explained to me in another thread, the point that is awarded is equal to the amount of money you win, in the tourny, except for the 3$ tourny where you get doubled the point of the money you win. Because of that it is not nesesary to change the points from week to week, it is simply determind by the payout structur.

It was the same structur, that we used in the first half of 2008, when I played in the player league, and it worked fine then.

The problem is with a fixed structur is that you get the same amount of points for beaten 100 oponents as you do for beating 9, and I think we can agree that it is tougher to beat the 100 player then to beat the 9.

I agree with Akela that the fair and simple way to give points is to use the money from the winnings as points (1x the amount from the "expensive" tour and 2x the amount form the "cheap")

what do you mean? We dont have to change point structure weather 10 or 50 players. If you use the structure you suggested we indeed would have to change that because it doesnt take into account how many playrs participate.

I think you misunderstand the current system slinky.

As it is now, the payoutstructure is already based on how many participate in the tourneys.

If we are less than 30 players its a top 3 payout.
From 31 to 60 its a top 6 payout
From 61 to 70 its a top 9 payout

Are we going to make it a wild-card to a final table where they dont really stand a good chance of winning because they are to far behind or do we award points after how well they do in that tourney. My suggestion would be to keep it a $1 extra tourney where you are award x3, x5 or x10 the number of dollars you win to be added to the yearly score. (and some extra generous prices from ThePlayr.com or Party Poker offcause.. ;) )

That way, the players who have done good in that month gets an extra chance to score points. But since it would be a top 3 payout only a few will get any.

I was just thinking if people join this league in say august time it will be hard to catch up with such high points but hey if everyone's happy with the way things are then keep it that way :D

I will sugest that the point structur proceed as now, and then top 10 play a monthly final.

Playing in the monthly final gives extra points to the overall leaderbord, but no wiledcard to the yearly Final. And then som added mony to the prize pool or other prices from theplayr.com or pokerrooms.

About the yearly final, i have a few sugestions.

The first one is that the winer of the final takes the title.

The second sugestion is to do it like this year, people take the points with them and get rewarded bonus for there overall leaderboar and bonus points for monthly final win. Points will bee addet acording to your place in the final and the player with most points is player of the year.

The third option is, that you half the points from the overall leaderboard. Points will bee addet acording to your place in the final and the player with most points is player of the year.
The idea about halfing the points beefore the final, is to eaven the filed so the lastplace have a chance to get the title.

I whould sugest the last options in the yearly final.

Well in the past 2 we awarded tourney tickets for the first 3. I think we keep that. Might change it into cash also.
