the future of the playr league

Hi Playrs, were glad to bring back the playr league (http://theplayr.com/en/forums/showthread.php?p=17#post17) which will start next Sunday, during this week you can also decide which day you would like to let the league take place in this thread (http://theplayr.com/en/forums/showthread.php?t=6)

In this thread we want to collect ideas on how to proceed with the league.

There were a lot of suggestions but we could not decide which way would be best and we think it is best if you The Playrs to go ahead and come to a conclusion about what you want.

One thing we already decided is that we want to keep the league running until 31.12. We want to do this because we want to be fair to all Playrs.

Here I make a rough list of all the options we have right now, and you guys can criticize and make suggestions.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All the options are assuming that we continue with the old league until 31.12. ending the league before that is not an option

options on how to do the finals:

#1 play a finalist tournament of the top 20 ranked Playrs in each league to decide who is the ultimate Playr of Playrs

#2 play a heads up shootout tournament with the top 20 ranked Playrs in each league

#3 the winners of each league have to play a heads up freezout vs me on 4 tables and the playr who did best is the playr of the universe ( ok just kidding :D )

options on how to proceed with the tounreys and decide the finalists until 31.12.

#1 keep the leagues seperated as they are until 31.12. while playing in separate tourneys


#2 keep the leagues separated but play together in the tourneys

-for example: the best Playr of the International Leage makes #2 in the tourney he will get the points equivalent for #1 in the tourney for his league to be added to his score , same goes for 2nd 3 rd etc



#3 put the leagues together with existing points

#4 put the leagues together and adjust the points

- it means that every Playr of either league will have the exact same points
depending on his rank compared to his equivalent in the opposite league to continue in 1 big league

-in other words if Playr #1 in league A has 600 points and Playr #1 in league B 620 they will now start to continue both at 600 or both at 620 in one big league. That goes for every ranked Playr.

Personally this solution is my favorite but you guys decide in the polls next week.

Yeah. #2.1 isnt all that bad. Get a closure on the old tournaments and start on a fresh.

I guess you guys missunderstood is, we will keep the league going until 31.12 because we want to be fair and thinks its best way. The Questions is how to proceed. Ill mak eit more clear in the OP. But thanks for your opinions anyway!

As long as its as fair as posible for both Danish and international players - I dont really care much.

Since it is now no longer an option ill make the suggestion here... ;)

#5: We take top 20 (and the ones qualified for the year final who is outside top 20 in points, if any) from both the danish and the international PL and make a tournament and make a "half time winner". The winner (or top 3 - top 5 or whatever seems fair, there is after all only a little over 2 months left of the year) is secured a place in the YEARLY FINAL!!

That way the unfairness of difference in points and the fact that some danes have been participating in both tournaments will be wiped away and you still get something from the effort you made earlier. Also we get a fresh start for the new tournament.

K1-DK's idea sounds extremely sensible for the following reasons:-

1.Persons like my self whom have no had a chance to deem any points will be equal and can play as part of the NEW community with ALL playr league community playrs involved.
2.It will put a finalisation to the old playr league once and for all and concentrate on the new playr league structure.
3. You are using a new Poker site.
4. It seems like a lot less work and less face it with all the reading :( ..... and organisation you have enough work.
5. It will make the leaders in the OLD league happy and bring them straight back to the site for a new round (assuming these are the best of playrs we have in our playrleague, I would really like to see them happy and stay)
6. There will be less tournaments for the Old playrs to play, less time taken up and less money if they wish to participate until 31.12 in both leagues.

I could write all day but wont. It appears to be best way.....start fresh, eliminate work for management and keep everyone in league 1 and league 2, in 1 new playr.com community league and happy :)

We will consider it but it will be impossible to organize a new league until next sunday. We really have some new fresh ideas but we would like to discuss it with the playr community first that is why we made that decision and they also need more time and thought.
