Just had to write somewhere how sad I am.

Not far from me (2hrs) whole townships have burnt to the ground in our bush fires. Sadly 3 of my sisters friends have lost their homes, they are 3 of many of 100's of houses burnt to the ground. Forgetting the stock, property loss, there are now 35 persons confirmed dead and many more missing. The fire authorities are sifting through wreckage and not liking what they find fatality wise. Of course the fires are still burning so there are very few concentrating on the sifting efforts. As we slept the fires tore through these communities, there was no warning and no time. There is basically no entry in or out as fallen tress have blocked roads. All efforts aside, this is a difficult situation.
In the last 30mins my house has started filling with smoke with another massive fire no more then 20 mins away at Beachworth. Basically, NSW and VIC have fires everywhere and lives being destroyed as each minute passes. With yesterdays temperature over 47 Degrees Celsius with winds, 40c+ for the last two weeks and a drought it is not very promising bushfire wise, it never was.

In QLD it is the complete opposite with many homes flooded out and many lives destroyed there. I am not keeping up with this obviously with all this fire crap happening.

I am truly so sad, I broke down when I saw that a family of 6 were trapped and burnt in their car. Those poor children! Anyway enough of my dribbling. No point praying lol, time to deal with it and help these people. I will be on high alert to my friends needs and are awaiting their phone calls if necessary for them to ring. I am actually hoping they have canceled local live poker games tonight ... now that's a first and says everything!!:(

I heard about the bush fires in our news, and thought hopefully Danielle is not affected. I´m so sorry for your three sisters losing their home and all the other people who even lost family members. Keep your chin up, Danielle.

Update for anyone who is interested:
They have now found 69 deceased (without really looking) 84 now 10 mins later
There are almost 1000 house burnt and 2 whole townships gone.

The fires are now even closer to me at Yackandandah and closing in. They are headed towards Baranduda also for anyone that wants to look on map.
I think there is no way I will be at risk but are preparing for my brothers etc to go and help a long term friend. Who lives in the ranges and is the first point of fire contact for my area.

For any Aussies or Interested Persons, Another Update!

Fires are closing in on our local townships.

Confirmed deceased was 131 earlier. They are now going from house to house sifting through rubble to locate missing persons. Again I am sad :(

I have asked fellow poker players on fbook to donate 1 BB or even 1 dollar to the red cross to help build the lives of up to 1000 families that have so far lost their lives. I have no idea what else to do. People really are helpless and I felt I should do something. Meanwhile flooding is worse in up Australia ....

Sadly two connected persons to my life have perished that we know of so far.

I am distant from theplayr with a lot happening here right now.
FIRES:
A lady I know and her 3 children are missing. 3 people I know (my sisters friends) have lost their homes. My friend spent the night here on Sunday, her families house burnt down and her cousin is still missing. There are 181 dead and masses still missing actually. My houses smoke has finally cleared. I have been working a LOT on helping the victims of this tragedy by helping co-ordinate donations etc on facebook. There are now more then 600,000 people in the cause on there and it got quite a bit out of hand.
I have started a group to help the victims with online nurses etc for them to talk to.
HOME LIFE:
I have stopped all poker writings etc for the time being. A relationship breakdown (which may now be getting back on track) has not come at a good time.
R.I.P Dear friend:
To top this off the brother of my sisters best friend was tragically killed this morning when run over we think multiple times without people noticing.

Danielle has not gone anywhere, she is just missing in action with excessively important and horrific issues happening in her life.
Just thought I would let you guys know!

glad to hear that your relatives are safe, sounds like it could have been a lot worse.

mother nature is getting angry with the way we are treating our planet...this kinds of things are happening more and more.
