Twitter is a "hopeless" idea.
It has been running for about 3 years now and only have less than 5 mill. people who have joined.
The reason is simple. Where most of the other social concepts on the net like facebook or myspace is focussing on the interaction with the people you allready know and having the possibility to expand that network, twitter is a place where you take your personal life and expose it to everybody. If you are not working with adverticing, politics or movies, then it hardly is something that makes any sense to use for a very long time.
In my oppinion it will be a shortlived hype.

To compare: MySpace had its 100 Mill. account in about that timeperiod. Facebook had "only" 50 mill in about 3 years.
5 mill. people is not many for that type of websites.

Yes those sites are huge, compared to those sites it is small however 5 million people is still alot in the real world.

Isn't Facebook made by the CIA? To get information of all people :-)
